Categories: 

• City in Action- Meetings, events, and programs
• Local Landmarks- Parks, Streets, public buildings, and recognizable spot

Divisions:

• Youth (17 & younger) Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete the consent form here and submit to cflaro@cityofsignalhill.org 
• Adult (18 and older) 

Prizes: 

• First, second, and third place winners in each division and category will receive recognition, an award from the Mayor, and a gift card.

Submission: 

• Submit photos in digital format here by March 31. 
• Limit: Two entries per person.  

Finalists will be notified by May 4, 2026, and honored at a City Council meeting. Winning photos will be displayed at City facilities through the end of the year.

Tree planting is tentatively scheduled to begin in late September 2025 and conclude by December 2025. Residents will be mailed construction notices at least 2 weeks prior to planting.

The diverse species of trees were chosen based on resilience, shade capacity, and drought tolerance.

Announcing the Signal Hill Opportunity Study Area Economic and Land Use Feasibility Initiative

We are excited to announce that we are kicking off our new Shop Local Campaign, beginning with the launch of the new Signal Hill Open Rewards Program. The Open Rewards App represents a fantastic opportunity for us as a community to support our local businesses, visit favorite restaurants, or discover new eateries, all while earning rewards.

This program, approved by the City Council and developed in partnership with Bludot Technologies, offers a simple way for our entire community to earn 20% cash back on purchases made at participating local businesses throughout Signal Hill. From dining at our local eateries to shopping at unique retail stores, there are plenty of ways to support our local business community. This program not only helps us support the local economy but also enhances our shopping experience right here in Signal Hill. 

How to Sign Up and Start Earning Rewards:

1. Download the Open Rewards App: Find the app on Google Play or the Apple App Store.
2. Create an account: Follow the easy steps in the app to sign up and get started.
3. Shop local: Make purchases at participating businesses and upload your receipts to the app.

Residents can now watch the City’s cable channel on our website homepage in addition to downloading the Cablecast app to view programming on their smartphone or smart television. We will roll out more information about our new system on social media and share this news with the community through our newsletters.  As staff continue working with the Cablecast system, we will add new content that the City will share across all our communications platforms.

 The Cablecast App can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
